I just returned from my first blogging conference and while there I felt like I was drinking from a social media water hose for 72 hours, which was separate from the champagne and cocktails provided by the conference organizers.

unnamed-1Blogging Conference

Mom 2.0 Summit was an amazing premier professional conference for influential mom bloggers and female entrepreneurs who create online content. The bloggers and entrepreneurs range from newbies like me, to seasoned professionals representing a wide array of industries ranging from toddlers to technology.

During the conference I had the opportunity to engage individually with industry experts, listen to powerful keynote sessions and participate in panel discussions that were worth their weight in gold. I attended sessions on Personal Ethics and Blogging, Discovering My Elevator Pitch, Understanding the Value of Google Analytics, Building my Facebook Page and Email List and the importance of Search Engine Optimization. Not to mention the incredible networking opportunities with leading bloggers in their industries.

Locale

Mom 2.0 is in its seventh year and was held Wednesday, April 29 – Friday, May 1, 2015 at the luxurious Phoenician Hotel with the closing dinner and Iris Awards at the Ritz Carlton. The Iris Awards, which honor the individual achievements, collective creativity and impactful work that come from the parenting content community and was a production just short of the Academy Awards. It was one of the highlights of the conference. Next year I recommend they rename the award The Academy of Bloggers.

While I’ve done a tremendous amount of research and reading regarding launching and hosting a blog, there is nothing more valuable than rubbing elbows with those who are leaders in the industry. The synergies were amazing, my take-a-ways invaluable and my action item list is long and filled with great intentions.

Experience

My experience from this first conference was so impactful; I’ve already registered for Mom 2.0 next year, which will be held in Laguna Niguel, California.

I’m hoping that I can actualize the incredible learning experiences from this conference presented by this amazing group of talented women called influential mom bloggers. I’m proud to be considered one of them.

Stay tuned for the launch.
